Frostbite Dispensary Makes History in Roseville With First Sale of State-Licensed Cannabis Flower

February 24, 2026

Since opening its doors on January 5, Frostbite Dispensary has quickly become one of the most talked-about cannabis retailers in Roseville, Minnesota, and for good reason.

From a grand opening that drew support from the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce to visits by Roseville’s mayor and city manager, the locally owned dispensary has been building momentum since day one. Now, just weeks later, Frostbite has reached another major milestone for Minnesota’s regulated cannabis market.

On Thursday, February 12 at 11:30 a.m., Frostbite Dispensary officially recorded its first sale of cannabis flower cultivated by a newly state-licensed microbusiness, a meaningful step forward for both local entrepreneurs and consumers seeking compliant, Minnesota-grown products.

A First for Roseville’s Legal Cannabis Market

The historic sale featured the strain Pound Town, cultivated by The Greenest Pastures, a Minnesota microbusiness based in Hinckley, Minnesota. The Greenest Pastures received its state license in late August, making this transaction one of the earliest examples of licensed, in-state cultivation reaching a legal retail shelf.

For customers, this moment represents more than a single product release. It marks an important shift toward a locally powered cannabis supply chain, one that supports Minnesota operators from cultivation through retail.

Two Local Strains, One Big Weekend

Frostbite currently has two strains from The Greenest Pastures available for customers, including Pound Town and Mint Jelly.

According to owners Jacob Affeldt  and Abigail Affeldt, the arrival of flower sparked a noticeable surge in traffic over the weekend.

Despite the brisk business, the store remains well-stocked and is preparing for another shipment expected next week, an encouraging sign for both customer demand and supply reliability as Minnesota’s licensed cannabis ecosystem continues to grow.

A Community-Driven Dispensary From Day One

From the beginning, Frostbite Dispensary has positioned itself as more than a retail location. Its opening week brought local business leaders and city representatives together to celebrate a new chapter in Roseville’s commercial and regulatory landscape.

That community-first approach continues as the store becomes one of the earliest retailers in the area to offer flower from a newly licensed Minnesota microbusiness, helping smaller operators gain visibility while giving consumers access to locally cultivated cannabis.

“I’m proud to give our community another option beyond what people are used to, and to let them experience a preview of what this market is about to offer here very soon. This is a huge milestone for Abigail and me, and it truly shows that all the hard work we’ve put into building Frostbite is paying off.”

Why This Sale Matters for Minnesota Cannabis

The February 12th transaction is more than a single sale, it’s a signal that Minnesota’s cannabis market is beginning to function as it was designed:

  • Licensed microbusiness cultivators are reaching retail shelves
  • Local dispensaries are supporting in-state operators
  • Consumers can confidently purchase regulated, Minnesota-grown cannabis flower

For emerging cannabis businesses across the state, Frostbite’s milestone demonstrates how collaboration between cultivators and retailers can help accelerate market maturity while keeping economic benefits closer to home.

Looking Ahead

As Frostbite Dispensary continues to welcome new shipments and expand its selection, the Roseville shop is poised to remain a visible example of how locally owned dispensaries can play a leading role in Minnesota’s evolving cannabis industry.

With strong early community support, growing customer demand, and partnerships with newly licensed cultivators like Greenest Pastures, Frostbite’s first in-state flower sale marks the beginning of what many expect to be a pivotal year for cannabis retail in Roseville, and across Minnesota.
